Shoved Through My Mailslot #6

Shoved Through My Mailslot is a bi-weekly meme here at a Book Lover's Ramblings, it's purpose is to showcase all the books (or bookish items) I got in the mail or bought over a two week period.

Last week: Mail
I'm apart of the Just for Fins "Splash Team", so Tera sent me bookmarks and tattoos to hand out and spread the word about Just for Fins. I also got a Splash Team Official Member pin.

Last week: Bought

Went to B&N on Tuesday to get Blood Moon for a contest the author, Alyxandra Harvey, was having. (I mean, the contest is why I went on Tuesday, instead of Thursday, when I get coupons.) While I was there I decided to also pick up Siren.

I went to a flea market on Sunday, and at the book tent I found a brand-new copy of The Hobbit and a slightly-used copy of A Game of Thrones for only $5, so I just had to get them.

This week: Mail
I ordered Fins Are Forever because I wanted to be able to go straight from ending Forgive My Fins to starting Fins Are Forever. When I was taking the pictures for this post, I took FAF's dust jacket off, only to discover that there were TWO jackets on it, both for FAF (below).

This week: Bought
I didn't buy any books this week.

I had a pretty good two weeks, though I suspect the next STMM will be packed full. :D
What did you get shoved through your mailslot in the past two weeks?

It's Just—I Don't . . . UGHHH!!

I'm kinda disappointed that Stolen Away is taking me so long to get through (nearly 2 weeks). I'm about half way though it, and while something has happened, it doesn't feel like something happened. Maybe I was expecting there to be more fighting or freaking out or something that made what happened a big deal, and I think I was expecting that because that happens a lot in The Drake Chronicles, the first of Alyxandra Harvey's books I have read. In the Drake Chronicle books, there is A LOT of fighting and freaking and humor, all of which is practically nonexistent in Stolen Away.

So, I have been trying to make up for taking so long by reading other books. I read Torn by Amanda Hocking last week, and then yesterday and today I read Bumped by Megan McCafferty, and now I need to find another REALLY good book to read. Tonight's Grimm was about descendants from dragons, so I'm leaning towards starting Firelight by Sophie Jordan, but I don't know. . .

I'm feeling very off right now, I mean usually I feel a pull towards a certain book, but lately I haven't felt the pull at all, and I don't like that. UUUHHHHHHGGG, this is so frustrating!! I keep scanning and scanning my shelves, hoping something will stand out, and NOTHING! Nothing stands out, nothing even remotely calls for me to read it.

Sorry for the ranting, I didn't mean to do that, it just came out. Hope you're having a better reading experience than me right now.

The Fantastical Magic of Leap Day!

Happy LEAP DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to do something exciting for the occasion. I'm reading three different books right now, as you can see if you look at my sidebar, and I've just decided to to do a Teaser Tuesday. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Silly girl on the internet, it's Wednesday,"and I'm here to tell you that through the magic of Leap Day, it is YOU who are wrong, for it really is Tuesday.

First up is a line from Torn by Amanda Hocking.
"Yes, talking to a beautiful Princess—what a rough lot in life you have in life," Loki said dryly, and Matt snorted behind me.

Next a line from Stolen Away by Alyxandra Harvey.
"Just in time." The phone rang. He looked at it like it was a bomb he couldn't figure out how to diffuse. "Help. It won't stop doing that."

And lastly, but not leastly, Torment by Lauren Kate.
In Heaven, eighteen was the luckiest, most divine number: a life-affirming tally of two sevens (the archangels and the cardinal virtues), balanced with the warning of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse.

*All quotes were taken from around where I am currently reading in the books*
